JENS BIRGER CHRISTENSEN - FOURTH GENERATION OF BIRGER CHRISTENSEN

It was always on the cards that Jens Birger Christensen would some day take over the business. A move that of course involves more than simply joining his father at work. Proper education should come into play. And it helps tremendously when pure passion is what drives him.

Jens' experience has run the gamut from sweeping floors in Toronto as a fur apprentice. To learning about retail first hand in New York's upscale department store Bergdorf Goodman. Among other things, Jens went on to study economics and became the Director of Birger Christensen on Bond Street in London, followed by his position as Director of the Hermès boutique in Copenhagen.

In 2004 Jens took over leadership of Birger Christensen at the Copenhagen boutique on Østergade.

"For me it's a great privilege to be the fourth generation of a family-owned business, which comes with certain inherent commitments," says Jens Birger Christensen. "I have been fortunate enough to have a strong foundation to build upon. At the same time, I have had the opportunity to further develop the company and introduce new, contemporary concepts. Ideas designed to make the concept our own. As retailers, we have to perceive trends and other signals from the fashion and luxury lifestyle industry. It requires a willingness to change. At Birger Christensen, we continuously rise to the occasion without losing our original values, such as providing an exceptional personal service." Diligence, trustworthiness and commitment are the core values key to Jens' modus operandi. "Principles which creates joy and value in everything we endeavour," adds Jens Birger Christensen.
